FOUR PIONEERS NAMED TO THE NYCBL POST SEASON ALL STAR TEAM


The Elmira Pioneers are proud to announce that four members of the team have been named to the 2010 NYCBL Post Season All Star Team. Honors went to Ryan Ferguson (DH), Jake Rickenbach (SS), John Snyder (OF) and John Colella (RP).

Ferguson (Temple University) hit .333, led the team in extra base hits and RBI's. Rickenbach (Utah Valley State University) hit .327, led the team in hits and runs scored. Snyder (Marietta Ciollege) led the team in hitting(.338) and stolen bases (13). Colella was the league's premier closer. He notched a league record 13 saves (then 2 more in the playoffs) and struck out 37 in only 23 innings. He went through the entire season allowing only 1 unearned run.

All four players were selected to play in the NYCBL mid season All Star games.

Additionally, John Colella was named the 2010 NYCBL Fireman of the Year for his record setting work as the Pioneers closer.

The Pioneers are already planning on new and exciting activities at Dunn Field next season. More Fireworks, more concerts and more "lucky fan" giveaways.
