John started all six of Elmira’s games as the Pioneers went 4-2. Snyder batted .565 (13-for-23) with five RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. He posted at least one hit in all six games and recorded multiple hits in five of the six tilts. The Marietta College product scored the winning run in Elmira’s 4-2 win over Allegany County on June 14 and crossed the plate three times the next night at home against Alfred. Snyder’s top performance came against Geneva on June 19 when he went 4-for-5 and ripped a walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth to give the Pioneers a 7-6 victory.
Ferguson was named the Player of the Week for the period June 4th- June 13th. Ferguson, a rising senior at Temple University and a second-year NYCBL competitor batted .400 (12-for-30) over his first seven games and drove in five runs. He totaled multiple hits in five of those games and put together a six-game hitting streak that lasted from June 7 through June 12. Four of Ferguson’s 12 hits were doubles, a league high heading into the second full week of action.
